These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of the TimberLight Glow website and to purchases made through our online store. Please read them carefully before placing an order. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. About Us
TimberLight Glow is a UK-based business creating hand-poured aromatherapy and functional apothecary candles in Yorkshire. When we refer to “TimberLight Glow”, “we”, “us” or “our” in these Terms & Conditions, we mean TimberLight Glow. You can contact us at: Email: contact@timberlightglow.co.uk

2. Our Products
Every TimberLight Glow candle is hand-poured in small batches. Because of the handcrafted nature of our products and the natural materials we use, there may occasionally be minor variations in colour, appearance, texture or finish between products. These natural variations are not necessarily defects and are part of the individual character of a handmade product. Our vegetable-based wax may also occasionally develop small beads of oil or “sweating”, particularly following changes in temperature. This is a natural characteristic of some vegetable waxes and does not necessarily indicate that the candle is faulty. We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product photographs, descriptions and other information on our website accurately represent our products. However, colours and appearance may vary slightly depending on your screen or device. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights in relation to goods that are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet the standards required by law.
3. Product Availability
All products are subject to availability. As our candles are produced in small batches, products may occasionally become unavailable. If we are unable to fulfil an order after payment has been made, we will contact you and refund any amount paid for the unavailable item.
4. Prices
All prices displayed on our website are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). The price payable for a product is the price displayed when you place your order, together with any applicable delivery charges clearly shown during checkout. We may change our prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders that we have already accepted. If we discover an obvious pricing or product-information error after you place an order, we will contact you before fulfilling the affected order and explain the options available.
5. Placing an Order
When you place an order through our website, you are offering to purchase the products in your basket subject to these Terms & Conditions. Please check your order and delivery information carefully before completing checkout. After you place an order, you should receive an electronic confirmation containing details of your purchase. We reserve the right not to accept an order where there is a reasonable reason for doing so, for example where a product is unavailable, payment cannot be authorised, an obvious pricing error has occurred, or we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity. If we cannot accept your order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid for the affected order.
6. Payment
Payment must be made in full when placing your order. Payments through the TimberLight Glow website are processed securely using Squarespace Payments and the payment methods made available during checkout. TimberLight Glow does not directly store your complete debit or credit card details. Your order will not be dispatched until the required payment has been successfully processed.
7. Delivery
We currently deliver within the United Kingdom. Orders are normally prepared and dispatched within approximately 2–3 business days. Our current standard delivery service is Royal Mail Tracked 48. Current delivery charges are displayed during checkout and on our Delivery & Returns page. Where an order qualifies for free delivery, this will be shown during checkout. Delivery dates and times provided by carriers are estimates and occasional delays can occur. However, this does not affect your statutory rights. Unless we have agreed otherwise with you, goods will be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days after the contract is entered into. Please ensure that the delivery address supplied when placing your order is complete and accurate. If you realise that you have entered an incorrect address, please contact us as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed once an order has been dispatched.
8. Your Right to Cancel
If you are purchasing as a consumer online, you will normally have the right to change your mind and cancel your order without giving a reason. You generally have 14 days from the day after you receive your goods to tell us that you wish to cancel. After notifying us that you wish to cancel, you then have a further 14 days to return the goods. 9. Returning an Unwanted Product
If you cancel your order under your statutory cancellation rights, you are responsible for returning the goods to us unless we have agreed otherwise. Please take reasonable care of products while they are in your possession. You are permitted to inspect goods in a similar way to how you might examine them in a physical shop. If the value of returned goods has been reduced because they have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, we may be entitled to make an appropriate deduction from the refund. For candles, we strongly recommend that products being returned following a change of mind remain unlit and unused. This does not affect your rights where a product is faulty, damaged or not as described. Unless otherwise agreed, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning unwanted goods.
10. Refunds Following Cancellation
Where you exercise your statutory right to cancel, we will refund the amount you paid for the returned goods in accordance with applicable consumer law. Where applicable, we will also refund the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. If you selected a more expensive delivery service, we are not required to refund the additional amount above our standard delivery cost. We may withhold the refund until we receive the returned goods or you provide evidence that you have sent them back, where permitted by law. Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase.
11. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products
We take care to inspect and package every TimberLight Glow order before dispatch. If your order arrives damaged, incorrect or you believe a product is faulty, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at: contact@timberlightglow.co.uk Where possible, please include your order details and photographs showing the problem and the packaging in which the product arrived. This helps us investigate and resolve the issue quickly. Your legal rights are not dependent upon reporting transit damage within 48 hours. Under UK consumer law, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes those statutory rights.
12. Candle Safety and Use
Candles involve a naked flame and must always be used responsibly. Please follow the safety instructions supplied with your candle and the guidance provided on our Candle Care page. Among other precautions, you should: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep burning candles away from children, pets, draughts and flammable materials. Place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep the wick appropriately trimmed. Do not burn a candle for longer than the recommended period. Stop using the candle when approximately 10mm of wax remains at the bottom of the container. Failure to follow supplied safety and usage instructions may result in unsafe candle performance. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
13. Aromatherapy and Wellbeing Information
TimberLight Glow products are designed to complement your home, atmosphere and personal wellbeing rituals. Descriptions referring to relaxation, focus, positivity, grounding, sleep, mood or other wellbeing qualities describe the intended character and traditional aromatic associations of the essential oils used in our blends. Our products and website content are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition and are not a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment. If you have concerns about using essential oils or fragranced products, you should seek appropriate professional advice before use.
14. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the content of the TimberLight Glow website — including our branding, logo, original photographs, graphics, written product descriptions and other original content — belongs to TimberLight Glow or is used by us with appropriate permission. This content may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or used commercially without our prior permission, except where permitted by law.
15. Website Use
You may use our website for lawful personal purposes. You must not knowingly misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its operation or security, introduce malicious software, or use its content in a way that infringes our rights or the rights of another person. We may update, change or temporarily withdraw parts of the website where reasonably necessary.
16. Our Responsibility to You
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms & Conditions or our failure to use reasonable care and skill where the law requires us to be responsible. We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or for business losses suffered where you are purchasing our products wholly or mainly for commercial or business purposes. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful for us to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights relating to faulty or misdescribed goods. Consumer terms cannot remove those statutory protections.
17. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
Occasionally, circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect our ability to fulfil an order, such as severe weather, widespread postal disruption or other significant events. If this happens, we will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and will contact you where your order is materially affected. This section does not affect any rights you may have under consumer law, including rights relating to delivery.
18. Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. Information about how we collect, use and protect your personal information can be found in our Privacy Policy. Our website also provides controls allowing you to manage your cookie preferences.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our business, website or applicable law. Any changes will apply to orders placed after the updated Terms & Conditions are published. The terms applicable to an order you have already placed will normally be those in effect when that order was made.
20. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of the United Kingdom. If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory legal protections available to you based on where in the UK you live. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to prevent you from exercising any legal rights available to you.
